    Although intermittent fasting has shown promise in reducing senescent, or “zombie” cells, you can achieve the same effect without starving by eating a low calorie diet with the proper ratio of macronutrients. The Veye program restricts calories without sacrifice.

  3. What is the key to living longer?

    Calorie restriction is the only known way to increase longevity. The Veye program allows calorie restriction without hunger or deprivation.

  4. Is a vegan diet the best one?

    Yes if it is done right. However, it is hard to get adequate protein on a vegan diet. Veye can help you maintain a vegan diet, or make healthy choices whatever your dietary preference it.

  5. Why do I need to eat protein at every meal?

    To activate glucagon and AMPK, two important components to health.

  6. Can you eat too much protein?

    Yes, it is important to have the right protein prescription for you and your lifestyle. Veye will give you your protein requirement and help you maintain lean muscle mass.

  7. How much protein do I need?

    Most women need 77grams per day and men 121grams, although this varies by the individual. The Veye program can help you determine your exact protein needs.

  8. Is there protein in cantaloupe? Is there protein in broccoli?

    Although there may be trace amounts, there is not enough to activate glucagon or AMPK, and therefore these are not good protein sources.

  9. What are good carbs?

    Veye prefers the term favorable carbs. These are carbohydrates that digest slowly and release blood sugar slowly.

  10. What are bad carbs?

    Veye prefers the term unfavorable carbs. These carbohydrates quickly enter the bloodstream as glucose (sugar) and increase insulin.

  11. What is a glycemic index?

    This is the rate that carbohydrates enter the bloodstream as glucose (sugar)

  12. Why do I need to eat carbs at every meal?

    The brain can only use carbohydrates as fuel, and carbs are important for brain function.

  13. Should I eat a low fat diet?

    Yes. Veye recommends a low-fat diet with fats coming from monounsaturated Omega 9 or Omega 3 fatty acids.

  14. Are there good fats and bad fats?

    Veye prefers favorable and unfavorable. Favorable fats either help decrease inflammation or are good for cellular function, or both. Unfavorable fats contribute to inflammation and decrease cellular function.

  15. What supplements should I take?

    The most important supplements are Omega 3 fatty acids and polyphenols. Others such at vitamin D or B12 can also be useful.

  16. Why take fish oils?

    Omega 3 fatty acids help you control and decrease inflammation.

  17. Why take polyphenols?

    Polyphenols help activate AMPK and are important for metabolism.

  18. Should I take vitamin D? B12? A multivitamin?

    Vitamin D and B12 are often a good idea, and it is best to check with your doctor to see if a supplement is right for you. Polyphenols are preferred over multivitamins, although multivitamins can’t hurt and might help.
